Warehouse Expansion, Fort Vale Manufacturing Limited
Project Summary: The project comprised the construction of a Warehouse Storage Facility 1850m2 in area with 10m clear eaves height. The Warehouse was constructed on piled foundations with a structural steel frame. The external elevations consisted of brickwork, cladding and glazing to match adjacent buildings. A specialist FM2 floor slab installation with grinding to achieve a DM2 finish was provided for the VNA Racking System installed under a separate contract by Junghenreich. M&E Services included high level lighting, background heating and ventilation. Externally the site works included the formation of a Service Yard and external paving complete with site landscaping works and drainage installations..
Services Provided: DLP were appointed by the Client to carry out Employers Agent & Quantity Surveying services on the Project. At the Pre-Contract stage DLP prepared Feasibility Budget Cost Estimates, chaired Project Team Meetings and prepared an Employers Requirements Document for tendering purposes. DLP co-ordinated issue of the tender documents from the Design Team for selected Main Contractors to review and submit competitive tenders.
Post Contract the construction works were carried out under a JCT D&B Contract. As Employers Agent DLP carried out Contract Administration duties, organising and chairing site meetings and issuing contract instructions & certification. Quantity Surveying duties included the review and certification of interim payment applications, agreement of variation costs, preparation of periodical financial reports and agreement of the final account.
