Stanley House Bedroom & Spa Development, Mellor
Project Summary: The works comprised the construction of a Courtyard Bedroom Wing (18 beds) and Spa facility together with an extension to Mr Fred’s Bar. The new wing incorporated 18 themed bedrooms along with the state-of-the-art spa facility which provides the very latest leisure treatment facilities including a hydro-therapy pool, dry flotation room, five treatment rooms, relaxation room, manicure/pedicure room together with sauna and steam room. A new gym and a pilates studio were also constructed as part of the development together with associated changing rooms.
The bedroom and spa development was the third major project completed by DLP at the Stanley House site. DLP had previously worked on the original project to renovate and redevelopment the Grade II listed farm building and adjacent barn buildings to form the award winning hotel together with overseeing the refurbishment works to form the Cassis restaurant.
Services Provided: The DLP team were appointed by the Client to carry out Quantity Surveying services on this competitively tendered project. Initial outline budget cost estimates were prepared followed by the production and issue of tender documents to selected Main Contractors to submit competitive tenders. Post Contract DLP completed all traditional Quantity Surveying duties included the review and certification of interim valuations, agreement of variation costs & re-measures, preparation of periodical financial reports and agreement of the final account.
