The Project
St Peter’s Church, Heysham
Project Summary: The project comprised the re-roofing of the 8th century Grade I listed church building, together with internal refurbishments to the plaster ceilings and replacement timber works. The works had be handled sensitively and through consultation with a range of building heritage experts to ensure the authenticity and character of the building’s original features were maintained. Specialist conservation contractor William Anelay Ltd protected the whole building in a tented structure, before the careful removal and inspection of the existing roof slates was undertaken. The existing slates were re-used where possible and were carefully re-hung using oak pegs as per the original hanging mechanism.
Services Provided: The DLP team were appointed to act as Quantity Surveyors on this 22 week project
