The Project
Squire House Private Residential Development, Forest of Bowland, Lancashire
Project Summary: Squire House is a six bedroom replacement dwelling located within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The development replaced an dilapidated farmhouse and associated outbuildings with a modern twist on a traditional building form. The home was designed and constructed specifically for the Client’s specific requirements, and also as a ‘Zero Carbon’ house. The space and water heating is provided by solar panels and a wood chip boiler system. The structure is a hybrid of a traditional oak frame with a modern timber panel external skin which is clad in cedar. The walls, roof, floor and windows were insulated to around twice the level required by the building regulations at the time of construction. The house is built to a high standard of air tightness which is close to those found in a Passivhaus.
Services Provided: The DLP team were appointed to act as Quantity Surveyors on this traditionally procured project
Value Added: DLP utilised their wealth of experience and expertise gained on numerous domestic developments to support the Client and design team throughout the pre and post contract phases of this project.
