




The Project
East Lancashire Hospice, Blackburn
Works on the East Lancashire Hospice project comprised a mix of new build and refurbishments which was completed across five phases of works over a 56 week contract period. Included within the phased works were a refurbishment and extension to form a new catering kitchen / café area with associated dining area, formation of new staff office facilities, upgrades to the existing stair core along with the creation of a contemplation room, craft room and extensions to existing bedroom facilities. The Project was programmed in order that the Hospice remained open throughout the contract period with the minimum of disruption.
Services Provided: The DLP team were appointed to provide both pre and post contract Quantity Surveying Services on this project. The services included, but were not limited to, the preparation of tender documentation & pre-tender estimate, tender return review and advice on award of construction contract, completion of monthly valuations once works commenced, provision of post contract financial reports for the Client, agreement of the final account with the main contractor.
