Berkeley House Luxury Apartments, Harrogate
Project Summary: The Residential Development in South Park Road close to the centre of Harrogate comprised the alteration and refurbishment of an existing four storey building into six Luxury Apartments. In addition and in order to fully utilise the grounds of the existing property a new three storey stone extension was built within the former car park and gardens. The extension complemented the existing property and included a feature circulation link block between the two buildings. The extension generated a further five Luxury Apartments and under croft car parking.
Ian Summersgill of Linchpin Ltd commented: “Despite having to operate within very challenging and restrictive site conditions…the building and apartments were finished to a very high quality and specification, with both the old and the new essentially blending into one extraordinarily attractive building.
Services Provided: DLP were appointed to carry out Quantity Surveying services on the Project. At the Pre-Contract stage DLP prepared Budget Cost Estimates, Bills of Quantities and Value Engineering services. DLP coordinated issue of tender documents from the Design Team for selected Main Contractors to review and submit competitive tenders. Post Contract the construction works were carried out under a JCT Standard Form of Building Contract with Quantities. Quantity Surveying duties included the review and certification of interim payment applications, agreement of variation costs, preparation of periodical financial reports and agreement of the final account.
